The Denver 51 Museum, named in honor of the fifty-one founding members of the University Club of Denver in 1891, is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the rich architectural, cultural, and intellectual legacy of the University Club and the city it has long served.
Housed within the Club’s original 1896 clubhouse, the Museum is both steward and storyteller of one of Denver’s most enduring civic institutions. It exists to advance the architectural, preservation, artistic, and intellectual pursuits that have defined the University Club since its founding, while deepening public understanding of Denver’s historic buildings and the people, ideas, and traditions they embody.
Through thoughtful preservation, curated exhibitions, and educational engagement, the Denver 51 Museum champions the belief that historic places are not static artifacts, but living foundations for civic identity, community, and continued discovery.
